PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission capable of improving durability and power transmission efficiency and decreasing installation space of a Belleville spring for preloading. SOLUTION: This toroidal type continuously variable transmission of a double cavity type has two groups of input/output disks 12a, 12b, 13a, and 13b and has a loading cam mechanism 40 on the first input disk 12a side possessed by one of the groups. The input/output disks 12a, 12b, 13a, and 13b and power rollers 15a and 15b sandwiched with them are pressed by a predetermined load using two Belleville springs 52 and 53 for preloading. The Belleville springs 52 and 53 are overlapped in parallel in the same direction.
