PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal oxide particles and a method for manufacturing the particles having such features that when the particles are used for a conductive coating material, conductive film, selective light absorbing film or selective reflecting film for heat rays or the like, electromagnetic shielding film, antistatic film, photoelectric converting film, thermoelectric converting film, radiation film, ion conductive film or the like, the obtained coating or film has excellent mobility of conductive carriers such as electrons, holes and ions and that because the primary particles easily form a continuous network, the film has excellent characteristics in conductivity, electric conductivity, absorptive property for light and electromagnetic waves based on the vibration of free electrons, or the like. SOLUTION: The metal oxide particles are the aggregation of a plurality of crystal grains comprising the metal oxide with the grains adhering to one another.
