PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semitransmissive liquid crystal display device capable of making voltage-luminance(V-T) characteristics of a panel in a transmissive mode and in a reflective mode coincide with each other and suppressing generation of defective pixels resulting from a reflection electrode film and a transmission electrode film and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the case a projecting and recessing film 11 forming protrusions and recessions of a reflection electrode film 6 is formed on an active matrix substrate 12 in the semitransmissive liquid crystal display device with a transmission region and a reflection region on each pixel, V-T characteristics of the transmission region and the reflection region are made to coincide with each other by forming the projecting and recessing film 11 with nearly identical film thickness in both of the transmission region and the reflection region and by making gaps between the substrates nearly identical in the respective regions, and at the same time, an electric corrosion reaction between an ITO(indium tin oxide) and Al at an end part of the transmission electrode film 5 is suppressed by making the reflection electrode film 6 composed of Al/Mo overlap the total outer circumference of the transmission electrode film 5 composed of ITO with >=2 μm width. |
