EMULSION INK FOR STENCIL PRINTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-in-oil(W/O) type emulsion ink for stencil printing having excellent preservation stability of the emulsion and a moderate ink film strength. SOLUTION: This emulsion ink comprises an oily phase containing a varnish obtained by reacting a solid resin with a liquid resin in the presence of an aluminum chelate compound or an aluminum alcoholate in a solvent. An alkyd resin is exemplified as the liquid resin and a phenol resin is exemplified as the solid resin. The mixing ratio of the liquid resin to the solid resin (liquid resin:solid resin) is preferably (1:99) to (80:20), especially preferably (1:99) to (55:45). The varnish is prepared by heating the liquid resin and the solid resin at a temperature sufficient to lower the acid value thereof. The liquid resin and the solid resin are preferably heated until the acid value of the whole resins becomes <=10.
