PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a venturi scrubber which is excellent in wear resistance and corrosion resistance and is effective against stable operation of the device even when installed in a device for recovering waste hydrochloric acid used in pickling of a steel sheet and which is of lower price than heretofore. SOLUTION: The venturi scrubber used for collecting dust and for washing gaseous hydrochloric acid generated when an iron chloride aqueous solution is sprayed in a roasting furnace, is provided with a tubular gas introducing chamber in which a nozzle for spraying water to the gaseous hydrochloric acid is installed and with a throat section which accelerates the gas from the gas introducing chamber and makes the gas pass therethrough to a dust removing chamber therebelow. In the venturi scrubber, lining of a rubber layer is executed on an inner wall surface of the gas introducing chamber and on an outer wall surface of the nozzle and the rubber layer is covered with acid-proof cement. In this case, the throat section is more preferably formed of a carbonaceous material.
