PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat detection apparatus of a wheel for saving mounting work, and at the same time, improving detection reliability. SOLUTION: The flat detection apparatus of a wheel comprises a wheel detection sensor 3, that is arranged near a rail 2 where a railroad car 1 runs, a microphone 4 that detects a shock sound that is generated by a wheel 1a for converting to an electrical signal, a bandpass filter 6 that separates an electric signal obtained from the microphone 4 to a required frequency band, a waveform formation means 7 that calculates the effective value of a time- series signal that is separated into the frequency band for converting into a DC signal, a feature extraction means 8 that extracts a feature frequency component obtained from the diameter of a wheel and the drive speed of the wheel from the converted DC signal for setting as a feature value, and a feature value comparison means 9 that compares the set feature value with a preset reference feature value, and deterwires that flat occurred in the wheel 1a when the set feature value is larger than the reference feature value for outputting. |
