A member 21 is fixedly secured to a shaft 13 by an annular wedge 61 forced between the shaft and a tapered annular seat 63 formed in the member. The magnetic rotor 20 of the alternator of an internal-combustion engine distributer is secured to the driving shaft by a pair of annular wedges 61, 65 forced between knurled portions 56, 57 of the shaft and tapered annular seats formed in the polepiece members 21, 24 between which is a magnet 25. The wedges, shaft and polepieces are preferably of the same order of hardness and the angle of the wedge may be of the order of 8 degrees. Specification 915,329 is referred to. |
