PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic slide glass specimen sealing device which is small in size and light in weight and is relatively low in cost and to provide the automatic slide glass specimen sealing device which is higher in a processing speed. SOLUTION: A rectilinear moving mechanism has (1) a direct acting unit consisting of a direct acting rail and a direct acting block moving along the same, (2) a guide plate having an oval engaging hole, (3) a forward and backward rotatable motor and (4) an arm having a projection to be engaged with the engaging hole of the guide plate. The surface in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the direct acting unit is mounted with the guide plate in parallel thereto and this guide plate is so arranged that the major axis of oval of the guide plate is perpendicular to the top surface of the direct acting unit. The arm is attached to the revolving shaft of the motor and the projection of the arm is engaged with the guide plate.
