摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for realizing the consistent quality of a wire by reducing segregation in the wire when using a cast billet manufactured by a billet continuous casting machine. SOLUTION: In a method for reducing segregation in the wire, the temperature after the finish rolling of the wire is >=1,050 deg.C, and the cooling speed at the ferrite temperature zone of <=850 deg.C after the subsequent rolling is >=10 deg.C/s. The cooling speed at the temperature after the finish rolling and in the ferrite temperature zone of <=850 deg.C after the subsequent cooling is not less than the value obtained from the formula (1) CR=-0.05*TR+70, where CR is the cooling speed ( deg.C/s) in the ferrite temperature zone of <=850 deg.C after the rolling, and TR is the temperature ( deg.C) after the finish rolling. In addition, the segregation grain size of the billet to be subjected to the rolling is <=4.5 mm.
