PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output device, a discount system, an output method, a program, and a recording medium, stored with the program, which make it possible to update additional information and enable all users to have the reduction of output costs. SOLUTION: When a host computer sends a print request, an image forming device expects a selection indication of whether advertisement information is printed and then makes a decision thereafter. The host computer indicates the choice of whether the advertisement information is printed. When the advertisement information is printed, an advertisement image is printed in a blank area of an original image. The number of advertisement prints of the advertisement information is stored in a nonvolatile memory in a cartridge. A user returns the cartridge to a store, etc. The store hands cash over to the user according to the number of prints of the advertisement information. |
