PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system management device and its method that informs a user about the presence/absence of a node disconnected together with a node considered by the user to be disconnected from a network system. SOLUTION: When a user designates a node considering to disconnect it from a network system, a control section 201 discriminates whether or not a slave node is connected to the selected node (S503). When no slave node is connected to the selected node, the control section 201 informs the user about that no node is disconnected from the network system with the selected node (S504). When one or more slave nodes are connected to the selected node, the control section 201 informs the user about the presence of the nodes to be disconnected from the network system together with the selected node (S506).
