PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inserting a terminal capable of securely inserting the terminal into a housing of a multi-pole socket such as a CPU socket with good workability. SOLUTION: A terminal connecting body 30 connected by a carrier, and a tip end part 22 of a terminal 20 are respectively inserted into a diameter enlarged part 13a of a terminal hole 13 of the multi-pole socket housing 11. Then, the terminal 20 is relatively moved in a direction vertical to a plane part of the carrier with respect to the multi-pole socket housing 11, the terminal 20 is pressed to an inner wall of the enlarged diameter part 13a of the terminal hole 13, and the tip end part 22 of the terminal 20 is forcibly aligned. In this state, the tip end part 22 of the terminal 20 is pressed into the terminal hole 13 of the multi-pole socket housing 11, and thereby the tip end part 22 of the terminal 20 is inserted into a reduced diameter part 13b of the terminal hole 13.
