PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure. SOLUTION: On an article passage 5 partitioned by a plurality of vertically curved members 13, put-in articles A are stored while being piled up on one vertical line, the curved members are located so that curved inner face sides can face each other and height positions can be deviated from each other on both the sides of the article passage, and an energizing means 14 is provided for supporting the articles to freely swing them toward the inside of the article pass around lateral axial cores X2 and X3 and energizing the swing inside the article passage. The article passage is held so that a width G can be narrower than an article width in the facing direction of the curved members, and each of the curved members changes its posture to allow passing of articles against the energizing force by the contact with put-in articles. In such an article storage and discharge device for automatic vending machine, the vertically adjacent curved members are linked to freely swing around the lateral axial core X1, one curved member is supported to be vertically moved and the curved member is supported to freely swing toward the inside of the article passage so that a link part 16 can enter the inside of the article passage.
