POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE RESIN COMPOSITION AND MOLDED ARTICLE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition that can give molded articles having excellent mechanical properties with reduced occurrence of burrs, and to provide a method for producing the composition. SOLUTION: The polyphenylene sulfide resin (PPS) composition comprises (A) a polyphenylene sulfide resin and (B) an expansive lamellar structure silicate the interlamellar spaces of which are modified with a polycarboxylic acid- peroxide complex in an amount of 0.1-40 wt.%, calculated as the inorganic ash. In the method for producing the PPS resin, (A) a PPS resin is combined with (B) the expansive lamellar structure silicate the interlamellar spaces of which are modified with the polycarboxylic acid-peroxide complex in an amount of 0.1-40 wt.%, calculated as the inorganic ash and they are melt-kneaded to give the objective PPS resin composition.
