The mounting device for the fastening of transponders on kegs consists of a transponder housing (6) to support the transponder (9) and fastened to the edge of an upper or lower collar ring of the keg by a plug-in connection. The plug-in connection consists of a snap-in connection so that the transponder housing is fastened inseparably to the edge or detachably only by destruction of the housing if the need should arise. The transponder housing supports the transponder in a recess (8) which when the housing is fastened to the keg is blocked or closed by the keg.
