The pressed straw bales are layered like bricks and reinforced by vertical rods (3). Narrow planks (5) are laid loose along the longitudinal edges between at least two layers of bales (4) and are connected horizontally by connectors. The connectors are connected rigidly to the rods in their radial direction. The vertical rods which act as support can be formed by individual tubular sections.
