<p>A chip card (50) is provided which is equipped with a thin film battery (52). Such a thin film battery does not require venting and can thus be sealed within the card making it tamper resistant. The terminals of the battery and a volatile memory and microprocessor (18) are encased in epoxy resin. This improves the resistance of the card toward common tampering schemes.</p> |
