A projector, comprising a semiconductor laser used for laser positioning devices, comprising a semiconductor laser, a lens symmetric with respect to optical axis, and a cylindrical lens, wherein a groove pivotally supporting the cylindrical lens by two lines is formed in the front end face of a lens−barrel, the cylindrical lens is fixedly held on the end face of the lens−barrel by a retaining plate spring, the lens symmetric with respect to optical axis is inserted into the lens−barrel from the rear end side and fixed by a coiled spring, a semiconductor laser base having the semiconductor laser fixed thereto is inserted into the rear end part of the lens−barrel slidably in axial direction, and after a focus is obtained by sliding the base in forward and backward directions, the base and the lens−barrel are fixed, whereby the light emitting unit of the projector using the semiconductor laser used for a marking device can be mass−produced.
