The invention relates to a mold closing device of an injection molding machine for the production of plastic parts consisting of two or more plastic components, wherein a central mold carrying element is arranged between two outer mold clamping plates. Said element has two or four mold clamping surfaces arranged in pairs and opposite each other for fixing two or four tool halves and is fitted with a turning device lodged in a supporting frame, by means of which each of the tool halves of the mold carrying element can be assembled with the tool halves of the outer mold clamping plate with the aid of drive mechanisms and a mold pressure unit. The outer mold clamping plates are connected to one another by columns that go through the supporting frame for the central mold carrying element, wherein the outer mold carrier plates and the supporting frame are supported on the machine frame. In order to enhance stability, the supporting frame is fixedly connected to the machine frame and the outer mold clamping plate is displaceably supported on the machine frame.
