A system (10) and method for performing a vision examination includes displaying a series of visual stimuli in a line by line pattern display (18, 19) for observation by a patient and detecting the patient's visual evoked potential in response to the visual stimuli. The system (10) includes visual evoked potential recording and measuring device (11), computer (14), monitor (15), keyboard (16), electrodes (20, 21, 22) and visual stimulus generating device (23). The presentation of visual stimulus is synchronized with the rate of sampling the responsive visual evoked potential signals. |
