The assembly to secure swivel bolts (3), at the hydraulic steering mechanism (2) for the digging shields of tunneling and mining machinery, has a disk-shaped locking bolt (14) at the end of the bolt in the reclining skid (1), secured by a screw fastener (8). A bolt holder is in the side wall (1') of the skid, as a pocket partially shrouded by a closure (11), to take a locking bolt which is keyed against rotation. The rotation key is either through a positive fit or a locking projection (22). The locking bolt can be twisted through an opening (18) into the locked setting in the holder, and be secured by a washer (20) at the screw fastener. The closure(s) can be fully recessed in the side walls.
