The invention relates to a dough forming apparatus comprising at least a couple of first and second rollers forming a nip therebetween through which the dough to be formed passes and whereby the thickness of the dough is reduced and comprising support means for said rollers said rollers being accomodated in said support means by shaft members extending from said rollers, each of said shaft members comprising at least a first portion extending through and a second portion extending outside said support means, said apparatus further comprising at least a force-generating means adapted to exert a force on at least one of said second portions of said shafts, whereby a roller bending force acting on the roller due to the resistance of the worked dough forced through the nip is counteracted, the roller bending deformation is reduced and package, quality control and economic problems are improved.
