A telecommunications network (TN) has first (10) and second (20) signaling end points (SEPs). First (22a,22b) and second (24a,24b) subscribers connect to the first and second SEPs respectively. The TN also has signaling transfer points (12,14,16,18). Signaling information has to be transmitted between the SEPs in order to set up/disconnect connections. An Independent claim is also included for a telecommunications network with two or more signaling nodes, between which signaling data is transmitted, while signaling data to be transmitted is separated into multiple data streams.
