FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of production of methanol. Method of production of methanol involves stage of synthesis-gas preparing from gaseous hydrocarbons, stage of synthesis-gas compression, stage of catalytic conversion of synthesis-gas to methanol in reactor unit consisting of some catalytic reactors involving stages of heating and conversion of synthesis-gas in each reactor, stage of reaction products cooling and isolation of produced methanol after each reactor, stage of utilization of "tail" gases. Hydrogen produced after steam conversion of produced methanol part is mixed with synthesis-gas to form the prepared synthesis-gas in the mole ratio of hydrogen to carbon oxide in the range 1.4:1 and 3:1 followed by its feeding in reactor unit of catalytic conversion of synthesis-gas to methanol.
