<p>A multi-purpose cable gym system (10) is disclosed that incorporates an arrangement of pulleys and cables an exercise station having multiple exercise handles (40,42,44,46) that are continuously connected to a single weight stack (22) via the arrangement of pulleys and cables. The cable gym system (10) consists of a frame(12,14,16,18,20), a weight stack (22), an adjustable seat (62) with fixed back pads (64), a leg extension/leg curl pedestal (60), multiple deep groove pulleys (118,120,132,134), multiple directional pulleys (100,102,106,110,112,114,116,122,124,128,130), a composite pulley (104), multiple cables engaged with the pulleys (28,30,32,34), and a separate handle (40,42,44,46) associated with each deep groove pulley (118,120,132,134). The pulleys in the preferred embodiment utilized a deeper, wider groove (200) than conventional pulleys allowing the cable to track smoothly along the pulleys while being pulled at different angles and in different directions.</p> |
