A ball game racket has an approx. oval frame (11) and handle (20) with a Y-shaped aperture at the junction between the two. The aperture has a transverse cross-member (32) which also serves as an anchorage point for a number of longitudinal strings (12). The transverse member esp. incorporates shock-absorbing string-mounts.
