The invention concerns a profiled section for supporting and tensioning a false ceiling formed with a plastic sheet. Said section consists of two wings substantially in the extension of each other, one a fixing wing (11) designed to fix the profile against the wall or ceiling, and the other a support wing (12) designed to support the edge. A cavity (4) formed laterally by the support wing and the wall surface (5) has a more or less trapezoid cross-section delimited at the top by a large base (13) linking the two wings (11-12) and at the bottom by a small fictitious horizontal base (41) forming the opening of the cavity. The support wing comprises at its lower end a pin (14) whereon the edge (3) is supported. The edge consists of two parts assembled at the top so as to provide a gap for its insertion into the cavity with an angle sleeker. The tensioning of the plastic sheet results in the edge (3) being stretched on the wall (5) so as to conceal the horizontal opening (41) of the cavity (4).
