The present invention relates to a method of storing title such as a movie contents written on an optical disk recording medium on a large storage medium, e.g., a hard disk other than the disk medium at a user's request or during playback of the disk recording medium in a DVD player. The present storing method conducted in a DVD player determines based on an ID of the contents whether or not a multimedia contents written on a placed disk recording medium has been already copied onto an equipped hard disk, and, if not, it copies data of the contents onto the hard disk and stores key data for descrambling the contents data in a storage device such as memory other than the hard disk. Afterwards, even though the disk recording medium is not placed in the DVD player the copied multimedia contents on the hard disk can be played back repeatedly. |
