<p>The sample, contained pressure-tight in a purification column (B), is subjected to a defined, controllable positive pressure. Preferred Features: Prefabricated columns (B) are employed, each with a reproducibly-filled bed suited for the particular application. The ready-for-use column (B), is connected pressure-tight to a universal sample storage vessel (D), using a fastening mechanism (A) acting on a suitable contour, with an inert ring seal (C). The assembly (A-D) can be located vertically in a holding mechanism comprising a spring-loaded clamp with cover (E). The compression spring (F) between cover and clamp, acts as a safety valve for excessive pressures. The gas flow may be throttled at the tube (G), which is e.g. a capillary. The apparatus, of modular construction, can be extended for use with columns in accordance with laboratory workload. Pressure control for a column of any length or an individual module is provided by an accurate pressure regulator with pressure gauge.</p> |
