The invention concerns a prosthesis comprising an articulating body (2) which includes a shell in two halves having an inner cavity (15) and a ball joint (5) locked in rotation in said cavity, and means for linking (3, 4, 6, 9) the articulating body (2) to two adjacent bones. The shell parts (7, 8) comprise cylindrical conjoined surfaces interlocked with each other up to an abutting position and assembled in a tight fit. The invention is useful for repairing a trapezo-metacarpal, metacarpo-phalangeal or interphalangeal articulation.
