Double-glazed cooking oven food shelf is filled with gas having poor thermal conductivity

A kitchen oven has an oven chamber with side-supports for movable shelves. A single shelf consists esp. of a double-glazed (1, 3) panel with a side gas seal. The cavity between the glazing is filled esp. by a gas having low thermal conductivity and high translucency e.g. argon, krypton, xenon. The glass is coated with an infra-red reflecting substance.
