A liquid crystal display device, comprising pixel electrodes (6) installed in pixels having rectangular first electrodes (6a), second electrodes (6b), and connection parts (6c) connecting the first electrodes (6a) to the second electrodes (6b), wherein the connection part (6c) is formed so that the cross sectional area thereof is smaller than the cross sectional areas of the first electrode (6a) and the second electrode (6b), whereby, when a current of a specified value or more flows through the connection part (6c), an electrical contact between the first electrode (6a) and the second electrode (6b) can be cut out.
