FIELD: thermochemical treatment of metal products, more specifically, steel rolled products; applicable in chemical, machine building and other industries of corrosion resistance of articles. SUBSTANCE: method includes sherardizing of steel rolled products within temperature range of 400-600 C. Said process covers placement of products into container with subsequent introduction into furnace. Method is realized under conditions of stage, mainly, four-stage reduction of process temperature within said interval at presence of excessive pressure in container. Problem is solved if for method realization four furnaces are used heated at temperature, respectively: T1 = 450 C, T2 = 500 C, T3 = 550 C, T4 = 580 C, and excessive pressure inside container is maintained at 0.1-0.2 atm. Invention provides for increase of quality of coatings and products as a whole due to proper consideration of structural variations occurring in product material, particularly, on product surface and its surface layer.
