Real-time temperature compensation of measurements made using a coordinate measurement instrument by use of stored temperature calibration data

Method has the following steps: (a) Determination and recording of the temperature of a part of the coordinate measurement instrument and determination and recording of calibration data for the given temperature (b) repeating of the previous step (c) determination of temperature correction data from the recorded temperature and calibration data (d) determination of the temperature of a part of the measurement instrument and selection of suitable temperature correction data from the recorded data. An Independent claim is made for a coordinate measurement device with temperature compensation of feeler or scanning measurements.
