METHOD FOR ASSIGNING TRANSMISSION ANTENNA BEAM PATTERN ACCORDING TO STATE OF DOWNLINK COMMON PHYSICAL CHANNEL IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for assigning a transmission antenna beam pattern according to the state of a downlink common physical channel in a mobile communication system is provided to efficiently assign an antenna beam pattern according to the characteristic of the downlink common physical channel. CONSTITUTION: A base station judges the characteristic of a downlink common physical channel signal when transmitting the downlink common physical channel signal to an MS(Mobile Station) which exists in a sectored cell area. If a downlink common physical channel has a characteristic for transmitting information applied to all MSs which exist in the cell area, the base station applies the downlink common physical channel signal to an omni-directional antenna beam pattern and transmits the downlink common physical channel signal.
