An edge connector 15 for a printed-circuit panel 20 comprises a body part 16 of insulating material having a plurality of longitudinally spaced cavities 24 extending transversely thereof and interconnected by a longitudinal slot 19, each cavity containing an electrical contact 17 connected to a lead wire 18, said contact comprising a pair of generally parallel resilient metal legs 42, 43, having openings 52, 53, along the longitudinally extending edges 50, 51, adapted to align with interlocking elements 35, 36, and seat the same therein when the contact is fully inserted into its cavity. As the contact is inserted the legs ride up cam surfaces on elements 35, 36, and resiliently flex about their lines of connection 48, 49, with an integral terminal base portion 39, which extends diagonally between the legs, until they snap over the rear wall of each element which is generally normal to the plane of the walls 27, 28 of the cavity 24. Abutments 33, 34 limit the movement of the contact in the direction of face 32 of the connector body and ribs 29, 30, on facing walls 25, 26, of cavity 24 confine edges 54, 55 of the legs 42, 43, between the walls 27, 28, and the ribs themselves such that inward displacement of the legs towards the centre of the cavity is prevented. When panel 20 is inserted into slot 19 conducting strips 21, 22 on the panel contact reversely bent parts 44, 45 of the legs 42, 43 and make electrical connection thereto. Contact parts 44, 45 themselves are reversely bent to form spring segments 46, 47, which reinforce the contact parts 44, 45.
