Connection between the head of an articulated spindle having a toothed joint or a universal joint and a roll neck

The connection between the head (1) of a geared or universal spindle (4) and the journal (2) of a roll serves for transfer of a torque by means of a form-locked joint obtained by use of wear plates (3) between the locating surfaces of the spindle head and the roll journal. The spindle head is provided with clamping units (20) which exert pressure on the wear plates and clamp the spindle head to the roll journal without play.
