<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for testing a vocoder of a BSC(Base Station Controller) in a mobile communication system are provided to detect an error of a software and test whether a software error of the vocoder is generated. CONSTITUTION: A memory(412) has a command flag, a command data storing region, a result data flag, a result data storing region, an upload flag, and an upload data storing region. When a test command is received from an upper processor of a subscriber unit of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center), a control unit(411) sets a command and a test command flag according to a test type, checks the result data flag and the upload flag at a certain period, and transmits the test result data to the upper processor. In case that the command flag and the command are stored in the memory(412), a test unit(413) reads the command flag and the command, performs a test of a vocoder unit of a BSC, stores the performed result in the result data storing region of the memory(412), and sets the result data flag.</p> |
