A stroke limiting exercise wheel comprises a housing 1, two grip rods 6 secured to the housing 1, a chassis 7 housed by the main housing 1, a main shaft 4 supported by the chassis 7, a main gear 3 mounted on the main shaft 4, two wheel assemblies 2 and two torsion springs 5. Each wheel assembly 2 being rotatably mounted within the chassis 7 with a shaft 22 having a toothed portion 23 being in mesh with the main gear 3. The torsion springs 5 are mounted either side of the main gear 3 around the main shaft 4 and have one end secured to the housing 1 and one end secured to the main gear 3. The main gear 3 may have a peripheral stop 34 or sleeve (36 figure 6) surrounding at least one of the torsion springs 5 to prevent radial outward expansion of the torsion springs 5 when the exercise wheel is moved excessively in a rearward direction. Further disclosed is a second invention being a main gear having two freely rotating sections 321 and a third invention being a main gear having two stops ( 37 and 38 figure 8).
