PURPOSE: A method of reducing crops in hot-rolling of a rear plate is provided to enhance the real yield rate of products by minimizing crop increase and trimming loss. CONSTITUTION: After finishing broadside rolling, a broadside pass edging rate is decided under the width deviation in a plate. In having a negative crop shape, the current calculated edging rate or applicable rate in a limit condition is decided as longitudinal pass edging rate. In having a positive crop shape, the condition of minimizing the entire crop length is obtained. The current computed value or the transitional edging rate is fixed as the longitudinal pass edging rate.
