PURPOSE: An apparatus and method of offset controlling in photo-disk drive is provided to improve play ability of an information appliance, e.g. DVD ROM/RAM etc. by auto-controlling offset independently without micro-controller. CONSTITUTION: In the focus offset auto-controller having a radio frequency method of a radio frequency(RF) section and a servo-section, the servo-section includes an offset average calculating section averaging offset of signal generated from the RF section, and an offset calculating section transmitting an adjustment value to the RF section repeatedly until a variation between a signal adjusted and input by the offset average and a standard signal lies in allowance range. If an adjustment range error is more than the predetermined value, adjustment of variation is performed repeatedly by reading feedback signal until the variation value lies in allowance range. If the variation value is out of the adjustment range for a constant time, the offset value is adjusted by adding and subtracting input signal.
