PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo transport body having a cargo transport vehicle traveling on both railroad rails and a road. SOLUTION: In the cargo transport body having a traveling power providing device and a traveling control device, at least two sets of second wheels fixed in the vicinity of first wheels at both end parts are provided on a plurality of rotary shafts. A first state in which the first wheels are brought into contact with upper surfaces of the rails to support a vehicle body, and the second wheels are not brought into contact with installation surfaces of the rails, and a second state in which the second wheels are brought into contact with the installation surfaces of the rails to support the vehicle body, and the first wheels are not brought into contact with the upper surfaces of the rails or the installation surfaces of the rails are taken. In addition, a wheel contact switching device capable of changing the supporting position in the vertical direction with the upper surfaces of the rails of the cargo transport vehicle as a reference from the position with the vehicle supported on the rails by at least the first wheels to the position with the vehicle supported on the installation surfaces of the rails by the second wheels.
