PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress irregularities of heating temperatures of heating units and prevent boring failures without decreasing the durability of a thermal head in a thermal plate making apparatus. SOLUTION: An auxiliary heating control of minutely heating pixels (area 30) by a level not to form bores is carried out to heating units corresponding to the pixels which are white information pixels not to be bored and include one black information pixel to be bored among adjacent pixels in a horizontal scanning direction. As a result, the heating temperature of the heating unit corresponding to the adjacent black information pixel is raised. For a heating control to heating units corresponding to pixels (area 31) which are white information pixels and include a black information pixel next to the pixels in a vertical scanning direction, preheating of minutely heating is carried out, thereby raising the heating temperature of the heating unit corresponding to the black information pixel. Accordingly, irregularities of temperatures of the heating units can be suppressed without carrying out a heat history control which may result in a decrease in the durability of the thermal head.
