PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a yeast enabling the secretion and production of a large amount of an objective gene. SOLUTION: The yeast is characterized by the inactivated gene encoding a principal secretory protein. This invention further provides a method for the production of the objective protein by culturing a yeast transformed by an expression vector supporting a DNA encoding the protein and separating the objective protein from the cultured product.
