PURPOSE: A modified human basic fibroblast growth factor and a preparation process thereof are provided, which has higher activity than original human basic fibroblast growth factor. CONSTITUTION: The modified human basic fibroblast growth factor is prepared by substitution of 35 amino acids by arginine and 60 amino acids by valine, wherein the modified human basic fibroblast growth factor has the amino acid sequence of figure 1. A DNA encoding the modified human basic fibroblast growth factor having the amino acid sequence of figure 1 has the nucleotide sequence of figure 1. An expression vector pYBLC-A/G-UB-bFGF (KCTC 0148BP) comprises the DNA of figure 1. A transformed microorganism Saccharomyces cerevisiae DC04 (KCTC 0148BP) is produced by transforming with the expression vector pYBLC-A/G-UB-bFGF (KCTC 0148BP). A process for preparing the modified human basic fibroblast growth factor comprises the step of culturing Saccharomyces cerevisiae DC04 (KCTC 0148BP) in a conventional medium.
