VEHICULAR STEERING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical vehicular steering system that gives no sense of discomfort to a driver by improving the stability of vehicle behavior. SOLUTION: A movement of a steering actuator 2 is transmitted to wheels so as to generate a steering angle change. An operational process for controlling the steering actuator 2 uses parameters correlated with the inertial mass and center-of-gravity position of a vehicle. A plurality of values of the parameters are predetermined and stored according to differences in at least either of the size and location of a variable inertial mass as a part of the inertial mass of the vehicle. A mode signal is generated according to a difference in at least either of the size and location of the variable inertial mass. The operational process reads out and uses values of the parameters stored according to at least either of the size and location of the variable inertial mass corresponding to the mode signal.
