PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate tensioning device of a printing press capable of easily performing changeover work for the magnitude of tension corresponding to the kind of a printing plate and capable of also finely adjusting tension. SOLUTION: The plate tensioning device of the printing press is equipped with an energizing means for energizing a rear fixing device for fixing the rear end of the printing plate in a plate tensioning direction, a restriction means for partially setting off the energizing force of the energizing means by energizing the rear fixing device in a plate loosening direction, a changeover means for selectively changing over a state such that the energizing force of the restriction means acts on the rear fixing device and a state such that the energizing force of the restriction means does not act and a regulation means for regulating the energizing force of the restriction means in such a state that the energizing force of the restriction means acts on the rear fixing device.
