PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation head for a machine tool which can be easily controlled, and, in particular, rapidly and simply replace a tool. SOLUTION: The operation head for the machine tool comprises a first supporting part 1 fitted to a machine tool, a second supporting part 2 fitted to the first supporting part 1 rotatably around the first axis, and a tool holder 9 fitted to a space of the second supporting part 2 turnably around the second axis which is different from the first axis, orthogonal to an arm 3 present in the same plane as the first axis. The operation head is simpler in structure and more inexpensive than a conventional one, and the software for controlling a machine can be simplified.
