PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing apparatus for a water rod roller of a printer which is capable of eliminating vain consumption of time, labor, and a washing liquor. SOLUTION: End parts 28, 28' of rotation rods 27, 27' each having a plurality of grooves and laid in parallel to each other over a plurality of U-shaped vertical grooves 12 arranged in both side faces 4, 5 made relatively and freely movable are inserted into engaging holes 15, 15' of a frame body 1 and fitted in driven gears 26, 26' in freely rotatable manner; a water spraying hole 20 of a water distribution pipe 19 fitted in ring members 18, 18' of supporting metal fittings 17, 17' attached to the centers of opening edges 8, 9 of the frame body is positioned at a point above the center of the frame body; the water supplying apparatus 23 fitted in the water distribution pipe is immersed in a washing water tank to supply water; and a washing liquor is sprayed through the water spraying hole to wash a water rod roller 33. In this case, the washing rods 32, 32' bearing a plurality of grooves are additionally laid on the outer coating 35 of the water rod roller so as to wash the roller by rotating and sliding movement.
