PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material with a contact-bonded plastic film which imparts a feel of sophistication with a formed variety-rich grain pattern, even when a base material is low-priced. SOLUTION: This building material is contrived so that the shape, color and pattern of a base material B0 visually emerge, through an adhesive, at a part requiring protection and decoration among the other surface parts of the base material B0. The base material B0 is of such a structure that an artificial wood veneer B2 is laminated on at least most of the surface of a body formed of a wood aggregated material B1. In addition, a grain pattern F1 is formed on the back of the transparent plastic film F0 contact-bonded on the face of the artificial wood veneer B2 in such a way that the veneer B2 is covered with the plastic film F0. An adhesive is a non-solvent adhesive or a hot-melt adhesive. Besides, this building material is suitably used, when the body has not only a flat surface shape but also a complicated surface shape such as bent or curved.
